About

ISTAP

Where electronic minimalism meets cinematic emotion.

ISTAP is Cristina Carlini and Anna Lidell, a composer duo who have scored film and television together for over a decade. They write electronic music with a Nordic feel, built to carry tension and emotion under a scene rather than sit on top of it. They composed the title track and original soundtrack for SKAM Italia, and most recently scored the feature film Devil's Flower by Valentina Bertuzzi which will by out in fall 2026. They work fluidly between Italy and Copenhagen, and would love to hear about your project.

ISTAP is the composer duo of Cristina Carlini (IT) and Anna Lidell (DK). After collaborating on several soundtracks over the past ten years, they brought their work together under the name ISTAP, the Danish word for the transformation of snow into ice. It is a fitting image for how they write: electronic music shaped by Nordic atmosphere, where sound slowly forms, shifts and settles.

The duo composed the title track and original soundtrack for SKAM Italia before the series first aired, helping set the tone for a show that ran for six seasons and reached Netflix. Most recently they scored the feature film [exact title from your link]. Their wider body of work spans short films and documentaries including Delitto Naturale and the interactive documentary Flux, the web series GhostCam and Caronte, theatre at Folketeatret and Mungo Park, games such as Felix the Reaper, and podcasts including NPR's Invisibilia.
Cristina Carlini holds a PhD in Historical and Cultural Sciences and trained at the London Music School. Anna Lidell is a composer and producer with more than twenty releases, a background in Nordic literature and sound identity, and a parallel career across the music industry. Based between Italy and Copenhagen, they write scores that are atmospheric, precise and emotionally exact.
